The Lake is close to the village of St Saud Lacoussierre where there are all the usual shops including a butchers, bakers, hardware store, post office, general store and newsagents plus 3 restaurants, 2 garages and a weekly market.

Larger supermarkets can be found 20 minutes away in Thiviers and Nontron.

The Facilities are.

There is a Lodge / Carp fishers cabin next to the lake with cooking facilities and a double bed, plus flushing toilet and shower.

There are additional toilets located on either side of the lake.

The Washing Facilities.

There is a large 9kg washing machine in the house for your use. This means that you can bring minimal clothing and return with clean clothing.

Fridge / Freezer.

There is a large fridge freezer in the house for storing your food and beverages.

Drinking water

The potable water you can get from the house.

The Boat.

The boat is available for fishermen for use only for baiting purposes. You must cast your baits. Use of the boat is strictly forbidden when it is dark. A maximum of 2 people are allowed in the boat and only if you bring your own life jackets.

Car parking.

Cars must be parked at the house. We will help you take your tackle and belongings to your swim.

Charging facilities.

There are power points in the house for charging of mobile phones and laptops etc.

Internet.

There is a wireles network around the lake, this is obtained by turning on the antenna in the carp cabin. Please turn off the antenna when you are done.

If you wish to arrive early / depart late then we have plenty ofspace to camp.

Things to do For the Kids.

Voie Verte about 20 minutes away.
The Voie Verte running from Thiviers to St Pardoux la Riviere is great for cycling or walking through beautiful countryside away from all traffic. We offer
special day trip cycle hire packages including free drop off and pick up.

Brantome Canoe
Discover the beautiful Dronne valley by canoe departing from the historic town of Brantome. Also offering climbing, tree adventure and zip rope activities
about 1/2 hr away.

Fascinating prehistoric caves with paintings and rock formations. about 15 minutes away.

A vast recreation area with woods and leisure lake. Offering all sorts of activities including tree adventures, zip-wires, velo-rail, tennis, swimming and
even paintball! Check this out its got loads to do for the children
Velo Rail
Popular throughout France, a network of disused railway lines which have been converted to carry family cycle trolleys.

St Jean de Cole  about 20 minutes away.
Officially one of the prettiest villages in France, St Jean de Cole is a beautiful place to visit. There are some great places to eat (see above) or just
stroll along the river and enjoy the ambience.

Archery.
There is an archery range just around the corner.
The capital of perigeux has many attraction but one that may suit the children is a sweimming pool with water slides.

There is an absolute fantastic local restaurant in St Pardoux la riviere "hotel de France" that do a special menu on Sundays which is an absolute must. I
have taken all of my friends and family and they always make sure that they fit this into their holidays when they return.

There are many chateaus in the region, some are quite interesting but not sure if the children will be too interested in.
oradour sur glane.about an hour away
This is a real interesting village. The Germans in the 2nd world war basically massacred the whole village. This village has been preserved as a memorial to
the slaughter.

there are several go cart tracks.
Paintball. approx 15minutes away.
